Women have 2 biological clocks
One of the things I have realised is, as women, we can have two biological clocks.
The first starts ticking when we feel the pull to have children in our 20/30’s. The second happens much later in life when the family has grown up and we are moving up the family tree, we might even be the oldest living generation.
The clock is ticking again, time is moving so fast. We start to think how much time do we have left.
Have we done all we want to do?
The ironic thing is, in all the years we had when caring for our family, we often craved time for ourselves but rarely, if ever, managed to carve any out. After being squeezed and pulled in all directions for so long, when that period is over – we don’t even know what we like anymore as we have lost ourselves in the process!
We might have that empty nest and now don’t know who we are without the labels of mum, wife, partner etc.
Who can relate?
In finding myself again, one of the things I have found that helps is remembering what I used to enjoy as a child. Swimming and creative things are high on my list.
What’s on yours?
